MONOCHROME MUSINGS: A CINEMATIC EXPLORATION

A brief in collaboration with NOWNESS, a global video channel celebrating creative excellence in storytelling, our team was tasked with producing a 60-second short film exploring the emotional power of colour within a week's deadline. Assigned the colour black, I embraced this challenge as an opportunity to hone my perception, refine my artistic voice, and create a conceptually driven work.

Through collaborative efforts, we crafted "Time Dysphoria," a thought-provoking narrative that delved into the monotony and repetition of everyday life. By harnessing the evocative qualities of black, we shaped a visually captivating experience that invited the audience to contemplate the emotive resonance of this singular hue.

Throughout this intense creative process, I showcased my ability to work effectively within a team, contributing to the film's conceptualisation, styling, art direction, and production design. The project allowed me to further develop my multidisciplinary skills, seamlessly blending elements of filmmaking, visual storytelling, and artistic expression.

Beyond technical proficiency, I demonstrated my capacity for conceptual thinking, translating abstract ideas into tangible visuals that conveyed a profound emotional depth. By embracing the limitations of the brief and focusing solely on the colour black, I pushed the boundaries of my creativity, crafting a visually compelling narrative that transcended conventional storytelling methods.

Moreover, this project exemplified my adaptability and ability to thrive under tight deadlines. Within the constraints of a week, I collaborated seamlessly with my team, leveraging our collective strengths to produce a polished final product that met the highest standards of NOWNESS' curatorial expertise.

"Time Dysphoria" not only showcased my artistic prowess but also highlighted my dedication to continuous growth and learning. By immersing myself in this intense creative challenge, I emerged with a sharpened artistic vision, an enhanced understanding of visual storytelling, and a renewed appreciation for the power of colour to evoke emotions and provoke contemplation.
